Laibach Kunst installation at the Velenje Coal Mining Museum, Koroška cesta – Old Pit (Stari jašek) Velenje

As a part of Maribor's 2012 European Capital of Culture events Laibach presented a site-specific installations in three historic areas of the Velenje Coal Mining Museum. The exhibition in the White Dressing Room presented selected works from the ‘Red District + Black Cross’ installation, originally exhibited as a part of the group’s 30th Anniversary events in Delavski dom Trbovlje 2010. Laibach also had exhibits in the Black Dressing Room and in the Washroom.

Exhibition was opened by the president of the Premogovnik Velenje (Velenje Colliery), Dr. Milan Medved and art critic, poet and philosopher, Andrej Medved.


    


6 September 2012, the opening of the exhibition Laibach Kunst which the Velenje Coal Mining Brass Orchestra played a selection of Laibach's music.

Later on October 19th Laibach performed three concert in the Velenje Coal Mines, 200 metres underground.
