Pope John Paul II in Slovenia
May 17th, 1996 - Pope John Paul II first visited Slovenia between 17th and 19th May 1996, at the invitation of Milan Kucan, who was then Slovenia's president. His visit brought a large turnout to see him which was noticed by Laibach who were concidently working with the religous theme on the Jesus Christ Superstars studio album. It probably didn't changed anything on this album but the trip inspired 300,000VK album Also Sprach Johann Paul II, released the following year.

August 8th, 1996 - Recording work starts on the 300,000VK album 'Also Sprach Johann Paul II' completing later in the year on November 8th.

Occupied Europe NATO Tour 1994-95
August 12th, 1996 - Mute Records released the CD/Video box set 'Occupied Europe NATO Tour 1994-95'. Both video and CD are from the live recording of 1995 concert Dakota in Ljubljana, the included clips from from the NSK event in Sarajevo that year.

April, 1997 - Irwin and Peter Mlakar visit Glasgow for two NSK projects. Irwin mounted their "Interior of the Planit" exhibition, and together with Peter Mlakar of the Department of Pure and Applied Philosophy took part in the "Virtual World Orchestra" club-art event at the nearby Old Fruitmarket. There was a passport bureau processing new NSK passport for the visitors.

May 15th, 1997 - Laibach teamed up with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra to present a classical interpretation of their early material; with songs such as Drzava and Vade Retro played by the orchestra with Milan Fras providing the vocals. The concert was attended by the President of Slovenia Milan Kucan along with other high dignitaries from Slovenia. The event was marred in contorversy mainly due Peter Mlakar's opening ceremony speech which had the Archbishop of Slovenia storming out the venue in protest.

1999 - Very limited activity from Laibach as the members took time off to deal with other matters.

Early version of The Unofficial Laibach Site
July, 1999 - The Unofficial Laibach Site was launched on the University of Glasgow server. It was one of a number of unofficial websites created. The Bodyproject's NSK site based in Athens later went on to become the official NSK State site.
Summer 1999 - The Kosovo conflict captured the world's headlines with Nato getting involved. The conflict sparked a renewed interest in Laibach's Nato album, there was even a web site looking at the connections where they and many other thought the album was surprisingly prophetic.

The first album remastered
September, 1999 - Fourth issue of Laibach's first album released on CD, it had been remastered with a new cover design plus extra bonus tracks.

The Blair Witch Project soundtrack album
September, 1999 - Laibach's song God Is God featured in the CD soundtrack for The Blair Witch Project film.

The Laibach tribute album
February, 2000 - A Laibach tribute album was released by the Italian-based Radio Luxor label. SCHLECHT UND IRONISCH: LAIBACH TRIBUT featured 14 tracks from bands such Andrew King, Kirlian Camera and Runes Order.

Laibach received the municipal prize
June 1st, 2000 - On the twentieth anniversary of Laibach the town of Trbovlje awarded its municipal prize to Laibach in recognition of its achievements.
