January 24th, 1986 - Press conference to present the Suitcase for Spiritual Use at the Cankarjev dom. Part of the promotion for Baptism under the Triglav.

February 6th, 1986, Ljubljana, Slovenia. The premiere of Krst Pod Triglavom - Baptism under the Triglav at the Cankarjev Dom. A Neue Slowenische Kunst production where Laibach worked on the musical side of the project.

Vhutemas Archetypi LP

March 23rd, 1986 - The thematic compilation LP Vhutemas Archetypi is released by Side Effects Records in the UK. Laibach contributed two uniquely recorded tracks for the Graeme Revell project. The sleeve design was created by the NSK's Novi Kolektivizem.

March 26th, 1986 - Laibach's 'Occupied Europe Tour 86' performance in Brussels.

March 28th, 1986 - Laibach's 'Occupied Europe Tour 86' performance in Kortrijk, Belgium.

April 5th, 1986 - Laibach concert 'Krvava Gruda, Plodna Zemlja' (Bloody Ground - Fertile Soil) is performed at Hum, Slovenia. It was the first legal concert in Slovenia having successfully made their request to the 12th congress of the SSO of Slovenia. The concert was possible as the ban on Laibach performing was enforced by municipality of Ljubljana but not elsewhere in Slovenia.

April 16th, 1986 - Occupied Europe Tour 1983-1985 Live LP is released by Side Effects Records.

May 25th, 1986 - The NSK were presented the Golden Bird award 1986 by ZSMS (Socialist Youth Alliance of Slovenia).

June 5th, 1986 - Laibach start their first tour of the UK with a concert in London at the Bay 63.

June 12th, 1986 - Laibach record their first Peel session with three tracks (Krst, Fertile Land and Life Is Life) for the BBC radio show 'John Peel Session'. Recording took place at the Maida Vale Studios (MV4) with the material presented on the John Peel Show transmitted on 24th June 1986.

January 20th, 1987 - Mute Records released their first Laibach record with the single "Geburt Einer Nation".

February 17th, 1987 - Laibach's first concert in Ljubljana since 1983. The performance titled 'Birds of a Feather' took place at the Festival Hall of Pionirski Dom.

February 23rd, 1987 - Mute Records released the album 'Opus Dei'.

February 25th, 1987 - NK Studio's 'Youth Day' was selected by ZSMS (Socialist Youth Alliance of Slovenia) as the official poster for the "Youth Day" event on 25th May. The poster was reproduced in Politika, the main Yugoslav daily newspaper where an astute member of the public spotted the striking similarity to Nazi artist Richard Klein's painting the Third Reich and duely informed the press.

September 4th, 1987 - The first of three 'No Fire Escape' performances with Michael Clark and Company at at James A. Doolittle Theatre, for the Los Angeles Festival.

September 5th, 1987 - The Premiere of Macbeth by Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. Laibach provided the music and took part in sixteen live theatrical performances.

September 17th, 18th, 1987 - Michael Clark and Company perform 'No Fire Escape' for BITEF at the Sava Centre in Belgrade. Laibach were supposed to be involved in the performance but were rejected and censored by the organisers.

Autumn 1989 - Around early autumn Laibach went into Studio Tivoli in Ljubljana and recorded Macbeth, the soundtrack they had performed for Deutsches Schauspielhaus in 1987 and 1988. In the UK music press it was announced that Ervin Markosek was stepping down from Laibach to get married and become a painter, also stated that Bertrand Burgalat would be joining Laibach on a new studio project having earlier produced Laibach's Let It Be album.

Novemeber 9th, 1989 - Eastern Europe was now undergoing a massive change as communism began collapsing with little resistance and on November 9th the Berlin Wall fell.

December, 1989 - Mute Records re-released the single 'Across the Universe'.

Macbeth

January 22nd, 1990 - Macbeth album is released by Mute Records.

1990 - Laibach were in Paris recording a studio album starting around late 1989, working with Bertrand Burgalat and Sean Oliver but in the end the material was abandoned.


3.Oktober

October 3rd, 1990 - On the day of the reunification of Germany Laibach released the single 3.Oktober through Mute Records International.

Laibach in Trbovlje

December 26th, 1990 - Concert at Termoelektrarna II Trbovlje (Slovenia) Laibach's first ever concert in their hometown in a disused power station. A party afterwards took place up Kum mountain near Trbovlje.

December 26th, 1990 - Announcement of the referendum results, the Slovenes had voted for independence from Yugoslavia.
